It is possible to reference the current date in calculations (such as to calculate another date that is a certain number of days, months, or years away from the date, either as fixed numbers or based on another field).

This idea mentions referencing current year for calculations - does the above functionality meet the need for what you are trying to calculate? Or do you need to somehow split apart only the year portion of a date?
